CHECKERS ANYONE?

Trinity has had a rough past few days, so it was decided that she needed some "One-on-One Mama Time". We went to her cheerleading meeting, where she received the rest of her uniform (featured in a future blog), and then on to Wal-Mart. We did a little shopping and headed home. She had expressed earlier that she wanted to play checkers and so that was our plan. After dinner, the TV was shut off and the checker board was set up. We happen to own the most awesome checker board known to man (thanks to Grandma). The board itself is made of cloth, sort of like a small baby blanket, and the pieces are huge, just as kids like them.

So with a little music in the back ground, we played checkers. And talked. It was really nice to just slow things down and get inside her head a little bit. She's growing up so fast, and I know it won't be long before she'll have no interest in hanging out with her mom. We had a wonderful night.
