Rebecca, a friend at work, has adopted a soldier fighting in Afghanistan, and often sends care packages to him, and the men and women in his unit. These packages are filled with things we civilians take for granted like candy, playing cards, and baby wipes, but are desperately appreciated by them. This time around, Rebecca has spread the word, and the box is quickly being filled. Tons of stuff has been thrown in there, from a basketball, to home-made cards. My contribution included candy, since NO ONE should be without it, and Beef Jerky, because I know what boys like. Although I'm not a supporter of war in general, I AM a supporter of those fighting, and dying, for our freedom. And everyone should be.
